We have welcomed our students back after the Easter break for the last term of study for this academic year. There are 8 college weeks remaining until all marks have to be submitted to the exam boards. In addition to coursework there are a variety of Level 3 and GCSE exams happening this term. Please refer to the exam timetable on our web-site for further details of these.

In addition, preparation is continuing for our work experience trip to China, some of our students have the opportunity to study for football coaching awards, we are taking part in a fitness programme in association with Nuffield Health and careers interviews with our external partners are continuing for all our leavers.

As you can see it is a busy term! We will keep you updated!

Friday 23rd March 2018

Easter has arrived early this year and students should be working hard to complete coursework.

Over the Easter period some of our students are attending a personal training coaching course to prepare them for the world of work and gym fitness.

When we return to college on the 9th April some of our students have chosen to extend their skills and coaching experience by attending a disability sports coaching award ran by EitC.

In addition to this our year 12 level 3 students are taking part in a pilot fitness project with Everton and Nuffield Health. This will provide them with the knowledge needed to complete their exams and also improve their fitness and coaching skills.

China preparations are continuing and personal profiles have been sent to Shanghai. Some of our students are taking advantage of the HQ Coaching opportunity to South Africa and details of this are to follow.

Happy Easter

Hopefully you have received the progress reports that were sent home over half term. Could we please ask that you return the feedback and review form via your son or daughter over the next week please. This feedback is vital to ensure our high standards and to improve further.

The feedback from the FA level 1 course held over half term was excellent and our students were praised for their contribution to the week Feedback from the tutors of this course will help us decide who to take as coaches to China in July. The decision will be made at the end of this week. We had over 18 applications and interviews for 7 available places. If your son/daughter applied but is unsuccessful this year then as a returning year 13 student they will get priority next year if the opportunity arises. All interviewed extremely well and we were impressed with the preparation and answers all student gave us!

There are only 16 weeks left until all marks and exams are completed! The year is flying past and students are now realising what needs to be done in order to complete the year successfully.

The opportunity for our students to undertake the indoor athletics leaders course was taken up by many of our students. This has been a real success with all students enjoying the course and gaining valuable experience and qualifications in order to prepare them for the future

This week has been a busy week to finish semester 1. The level 2 groups have been collating their work for external examination this Friday. We are interviewing all those students who have applied to go to China this Thursday afternoon and will be able to confirm students after the half term in preparation for the trip.

The FA Level 1 course is going ahead at half term. May we remind you that 9am attendance for the five days is compulsory and students will not pass if they miss a day or certain sessions. All students need to bring equipment for theory lessons (pens, paper), astro boots and trainers.  A packed lunch is also required!

Semester 2 starts after half term with new units of study, exam preparation (exams start in March), opportunities for coaching qualifications and preparation for work experience.

School starts after half term on Monday 19th February at 9am.

Just a quick update from us this week as there are no matches to report on!

Its been a great start to the work experience our NVQ students are undertaking with EitC and the feedback from primary schools and our students has been excellent.

Could we please asked for continued support with attendance and completion of work across all our groups in sixth form.  We will soon be opening our applications for the work experience visit to China this Summer. Students are aware that we will only consider those who show commitment and a ‘nothing but the best’ attitude to their studies.

We have almost completed the first semester of study – look out for end of Semester reports arriving towards the end of this term.

Friday 15th December 2017

This is the last update prior to Christmas so the sixth form staff wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  All students should be up to date with work by now, we have noticed a flurry of activity in all classrooms and computer keyboards tapping away to complete coursework!

Those students attending the Christmas trip next week should have returned their trip letters that parents have to sign, without these they cannot attend Spring City or Foot Golf in Aintree.  We are also looking forward to UV Dodgeball on Tuesday morning! Game on!

We finish on Wednesday 20th December and return for all students on Monday 8th January. The new term looks forward to inviting Everton in the Community in to discuss apprenticeship opportunities, the NVQ group starting their work placements and representatives from all the exam boards coming in to look at and verify student assignment work.

Friday 1st December 2017

This week we have been busy both working in the classroom and out and about playing and coaching.  The NVQ group have assisted in the running of the Primary Schools competition and all teams have played away matches. We have started to prepare ourselves for the possibility of some students going to China next summer to coach and have held assemblies to discuss this further.

Our Christmas trip is on Wednesday 20th December. Students will be bringing consent letters home for parents to sign prior to the trip.  Students have chosen to go to either Foot Golf or Spring City.

May we take this opportunity to remind you that afternoon coaching sessions or study sessions are compulsory, especially at this time of year when all students have outstanding work to complete. Some students are using afternoons as an excuse not to turn up. Your help and support with this is much appreciated.
