Students in HE

We have high expectation of our students because we want the best for you. As a minimum we expect our higher education students to commit to the 2 days a week formal degree teaching and a work placement as we understand the importance of becoming an evidence base practitioner. However, to stand out within the sport coaching profession, we offer opportunities for you to become involved in a variety of experiences to enhance your experience and career ambitions.

From volunteering to work with Everton in the Community getting involved in some of the projects they undertake to helping on match days are possibilities. Our partnership with Challenger Sports (need images) provides our students with the opportunity to coach and lead soccer camps in America during the summer months. Our students, this current academic year, have been on 3-month placements to Aruba in the sunny Caribbean setting up football projects with Everything is Possible. These opportunities are what set you apart from everybody else. As we grow our partnerships develop. LJMU also run a go abroad project which offers work experiences opportunities around the world.

As an Everton College student, you reap all the benefits of being part of the Everton Family and all the privileges of our partnership with Liverpool John Moores University. Access to all their services and facilities and the benefits that these bring are available for all students.

Our small group sizes ensure that as a student you feel supported with your studies. You will take part in a variety of lectures, group tutorials, practicals, work based learning and presentations to assess your learning and be supported through regular 1-1 tutorials to keep you on track with your studies. Academic workshops and study skills sessions aid your learning and if required you will be supported pastorally with a team of staff who work with the college to keep you on track. Guest speakers from the world of sport will enhance your learning experience and provide you with the insight and knowledge you may need to set you apart as a coach.

Football may be your thing. As part of your enrichment programme, we have access to facilities and coaches to grow and develop you as a player. Our degree students have the opportunity to represent Everton Football College in the U23s National Football Youth League and regular training sessions will ensure that you are match ready. If coaching is more you, then the opportunity to become involved with our sixth form teams is there for you to take.

The opportunity to gain extra qualifications not just in football but in a range of sports is also possible. We offer FA Level 1/2 Coach qualifications and work with other providers to offer experience in a range of sports.

As you think about entering the Football College, you will already have developed a sense of what you want to achieve educationally and personally. Our staff will support and nurture those ambitions through a whole college approach that is designed around you, to build your confidence, resilience and independence.
