Maxine Spooner

College Role: Head of College & Safeguarding

After graduating from University as a qualified Physical Education Teacher I started my career teaching PE in a London Grammar School and as a teacher and examiner in a sixth form college. I then had the opportunity to work at an International College in Spain where I introduced and developed vocational qualifications. Upon returning to the UK, I worked as a curriculum leader within Further Education before starting with Everton Football College where I have developed pathways to learning from level 1 through to undergraduate level study. I am also the Director of Teaching & Learning throughout the school and college and am confident that our teaching staff are ‘nothing but the best’. The students will tell you I lack practical football skills and have two left feet! My sport is netball, and although retired from playing, I am involved in coaching juniors. My claim to fame - as a junior I represented my country playing badminton.
