College Role: Head of Maths

I am British with Ghanaian heritage, I studied at Manchester Metropolitan University and qualified with a BSc (hons) Business Mathematics and Social Studies of Technology graduating with a 2:1 in 2001. From a young age, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, but I personally wanted to gain some life experience first. After a successful career in recruitment, I chose to pursue my long-term goal to become a maths teacher and completed a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics at Liverpool Hope University. I joined Everton in 2013 and have progressed to be Subject Leader of Mathematics. Within my role, I particularly enjoy planning and delivering personalised intervention sessions and supporting students to grow their confidence in Mathematics. I am part of several work groups including Equality and Diversity and I am currently focussed on designing and implementing a Teaching for Mastery curriculum. I love music and dancing and enjoy attending concerts and theatre performances. I enjoy spending time with my family and supporting my local church activities.
