For those students who do not achieve the required grades at GCSE for Level 2 study, we offer a foundation learning course in Vocational Studies. You will study this alongside your GCSE or Functional Skills maths & English. The course will prepare you for the world of work and offers:

• Sport-related units
• Study skills
• Organisation skills
• Practical work

It also provides the opportunity to study different sectors such as Public Services, Health & social Care, Horticulture and other careers if you choose to study these as an option.

Assessment

The course is assessed internally through a portfolio of coursework for each unit. This work is then externally verified by the exam board. Work submitted can be written assignments, work booklets, presentations, practical work and assessment.

Progression

The course is suited for those students who wish to progress to Level 2 study in a variety of sectors
