Dallas Cup Match Report – U18s

16th April 2019

Everton Football College 1-2 Sporting United SC 01B Videla

The U18s kicked off their second game of the Dallas Cup against Sporting United SC 01B Videla. The boys started the game quickly with an early goal scored by Centre Back Alfie D which was unfortunately ruled offside.

The boys kept the pressure on and were rewarded after Charlie H picked the ball up and took it past the opposition’s Left Back to whip a wonderful cross into the box which was met with a header by Josh Nile for his second goal of the tournament.

Sporting stepped up the pace of the game going through and taking round the Keeper only for the effort to be cleared off the line by Alfie D.

Everton met them toe for toe but after a well worked free kick Sporting were level with a low shot into the far corner and the first half finished all square.

Everton started the second half brightly with a high press making it uncomfortable for Sporting. However, after a wild shot from outside the box, the ball riccocheted off a defender’s knee and looped over Sam M’s outreached arm to make the game 1-2 to Sporting.

The boys didn’t let their heads drop they went straight back at Sporting with constant pressure and bombarded the Sporting goal but unfortunately the game finished 1-2 to Sporting.

All the boys did themselves and the squad proud with a hard fought effort.
